Clemenger wins Tourism Australia
Clemenger BBDO has ousted DDB as global creative agency for Tourism Australia. Digital agency DT, part of STW, has won the digital creative services tender.
The account is one of the most prestigious and high profile accounts in Australia.
“Tourism is a high volume business for the Australian economy and creating further demand through marketing is essential,” said Tourism Australia Managing Director, Andrew McEvoy.
“In the end, we’ve split the work across two agencies, who both demonstrated a strong understanding of the briefs. The combination of their technical skills, communication styles, creativity, networks and value give us the best creative partners.”
Is it Clemenger Melbourne or Sydney?
Two agencies both working on creative? This has ‘mediocre’ and ‘political sh** storm’ written all over it.
Tourism is an incredibly difficult piece of business to keep happy – lots of stakeholders, lots of opinions, lots of agendas. Tough call on DDB; they did a good job under difficult circumstances [record high Aussie dollar didn’t make their job any easier]. And well done to Clems.
