Cockatoo Island Film Fest announces dates

The founders of the Dungog Film Festival have announced the dates for a new Sydney based festival

The Cockatoo Island Film Festival, first announced in August has announced its inaugural dates for 2012.

Held over a five day festival, from 24-28 October, the festival is a partnership with the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust and will be the largest festival of Australian screen content in the world, trumping Dungog.

Allanah Sitzerman, the festival’s creative director said: The enthusiasm and excitement we’ve encountered launching this event has been overwhelming. This immersive entertainment experience will be a complete gamechange – picture yacht races, Australia’s largest BBQ, breakfast with the stars and nightly celebrations that will give Cannes and Sundance a run for their money.”
