Coffee ‘tache image is named postcard of the year
This promotional postcard for the Aroma Festival at The Rocks in Sydney was last night named Postcard of the Year in a competition organised by free postcard company Avant Card.
The image was created by the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority’s design studio.
Other finalists included postcards for the Volkswagen beetle, Roadshow Entertainment’s 17 Again DVD release and Mental Health Association NSW.
Avant Card boss Pat Mackle said: “The winning card was an outstanding postcard. It was also one of the most popular cards we have produced in the past 12 months.”

Alecia Wales from Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority
Some of these free postcards are fantastic, BUT they never leave any space on the back to actually write something and post them on to others – which they used to do – now they are really just another form of flyers that get looked at but never sent….
mac muttering you are a nob – most of our cards do actually have room to write on them, so get yourself a pair of glasses & have another look…
Really!
has anyone not seen ;
“Got Milk”
Rather famous…….
@Pat – they have room to write an address and that’s about it, i might be a nob but i’m a nob that likes to at least put something of my own on one of these cards if sending on rather than just post a flyer to a mate
Excellent reaction to customer feedback from Pat Mackle…
The card has no idea. If this was the best, work needs to be done.
got milk?

just one amoungst many many many…..
I LOVE these cards, I often pick them up.
I have two cards on my desk and they both have room to write a short message as well as the address etc.
Mac muttering – go pay for a real postcard you tight arse if you need more space.
“they never have any space on the back” is a big call. never? really?
I agree with macmutter dude, and I think Pat Mackle’s knee jerk reaction was rude and childish. As the representative of Avant Card, you have just singlehandedly turned me off this wonderful medium. And I have always represented them as part of the media mix for many clients. Be careful how you respond to feedback, Pat.
Got milk, but with an Asian flavour!
The card was great. I actually remember it from last year when it was one of the few of these cards that I actually picked up. Can’t say I remember to many other Avant Cards from last year.
