Conan to air on GEM

Nine’s digital channel GEM is to fast track talk show host Conan O’Brien’s new show.

The announcement:

In an Australian exclusive Conan, the new talk show hosted by Conan O’Brien, will premiere on Tuesday, November 9, at 11.30pm on GEM, fast-tracked nightly direct from the United States.

Conan, an hour-long, late-night talk show featuring some of the biggest names in entertainment and music, marks the return of one of America’s favourite comedians and TV hosts.

Unfortunately that’s no guarantee it will be broadcast in HD. When Nine had Letterman it looked like it was coming off VHS… via Mars.

HD or not, at least we’ll be able to see it! I’ve always wanted to see Conan on free-to-air here. It’s especially good, now that the Comedy Channel have given up on the talk shows. I just hope they don’t dump it after a while for some pathetic reason.
