Controversial Seven Year Switch debuts with 858,000 as Nine’s Habibs holds steady

Seven’s controversial new dating show, Seven Year Switch, debuted with 858,000 metropolitan viewers, who tuned in to watch couples experiencing relationship difficulties.

Seven Year SwitchSeven experienced calls for the show to be taken off air, due to content which featured couples at risk of break-up putting their marriages to the test by placing two single people, matched to the husband and wife, to live with the married couple for two weeks.

The result came on a night when My Kitchen Rules was again the most-watched show of the night with 1.376m; however, Nine’s comedy Here Come the Habibs reached 683,000 – up slightly on last week.

At 7:30pm a new episode of The Big Bang Theory drew 807,000 viewers while a repeat at 8:00pm drew 755,000.
