Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief Bronwyn McCahon departs Bauer after 16 years with company

McCahon departing after 16 years.
Bauer Media has lost another senior editor with Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief Bronwyn McCahon set to depart the company.
The Bauer veteran has spent 16 years in various roles at the publisher, and will depart the magazine in April with the publisher saying she wanted to “spend time with her young family and explore new opportunities.”
Marina Go, general manager of Hearst brands Australia said in a statement: “Bronwyn has played a formidable role in shaping one of the world’s great media brands in Australia. Her passion and drive has seen Cosmopolitan evolve beyond the pages of the magazine into a highly successful multi-channel brand. I wish her all the very best for the future.”
To all the people who will start speculating that she was pushed, don’t bother – this is a dignified exit from a well liked and highly competent editor who was much loved by the powers that be at Hearst. If anything, she has seen the future, realised there is more pain and carnage to come, and has timed her exit to perfection. And after 16 years of service, who can blame her? A big pair of high heels to fill.
How long til she ends up at mamamia? A couple of months?
At this rate, will there be any experienced editors left at Bauer? Let alone magazines to edit?
