CumminsRoss to open New York shop in 2014

Sean Cummins
Sean Cummins has revealed plans to open a CumminsRoss office in New York next May, as the independent full-service agency looks to capitalise on a burgeoning reputation.
“We’re doing it not to necessarily fly the flag of patriotism, but because we think we play a good game and a global game and we want to get out there to the best in the world,” Cummins told Mumbrella’s sister title Encore.
The agency is currently headquartered in Melbourne, with a smaller office in Adelaide. Cummins said it was too early to talk about clients or who would staff and lead the new operation.
Good on CumminsRoss, no doubt will do well in NYC as they have here.
Sean, in response to “I can’t remember in my living memory or career a Melbourne independent agency opening up in New York”
– we (Reactive) opened an office there about two years ago, which is going strong.
NYC is an exciting place to run an agency, and yes good agencies can make it work despite being a crowded and very mature market.
NYC? Once you’ve mastered Adelaide, try Sydney first..
From what I hear they are doing very nicely in Adelaide. Two years in and going well.
I have sent my cv to them there!

If you need any help with the language, please give me a call.
um, what about Nitro … an independent agency run by former partner and Melbournian Chris Clarke?
Umm Radelaide, you hear they are doing very nicely in Adelaide? Who did you hear that from – Sean?
@Radelaide: you must work for them. The Adelaide agency is a struggle and always has been.
Hi folks,
Yes we are opening in NYC next year.
And Tim, I am indeed sorry I didn’t know about your success in New York. Congrats and my bad! I look forward to comparing notes.
Nitro began its life in Shanghai then expanded to New York, London and Melbourne, mostly by acquisition of existing agencies in those markets. Including my last business which also encompassed Sydney and Brisbane.
CumminsRoss Adelaide continues to be a growing business for us. With great clients and great people you can’t really ask for much more. And given the number of CV’s we have on file from a lot of people in the market, there are many who want us to succeed! So thanks for the continued goodwill.
And finally Joe…yes some language lessons would be great!
