The controversial use of a jar of Thai curry paste instead of a fresh one being made by Tasmanian contestants Samuel and Ali helped lift My Kitchen Rules from 1.8m viewers on Sunday to 1.916m.

The victim was Nine The Block: All Stars, which dropped backed below the million-mark in the five capital cities after breaching the mark for the first time on Sunday night, according to preliminary OzTam data.
