Dawn of the Planet of the Apes pushes Transformers to third place

Fox’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has dominated in the weekend box office pushing Transformers: Age of Extinction into third place.

The sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Apes took in $6.132m across 579 screens over the weekend, taking its total Australia box office to $7.096m. It premiered in Australia last Thursday.

Transformers: Age of Extinction, which topped the weekend box office last weekend, brought in $2.704m taking its total Australian box office to $23.492m.
