Dentsu details extent of digital rorts on 111 clients totalling nearly $3m

Dentsu has apologised for overcharging a total of 111 clients for digital media valued at ¥230 million ($2.98m), and issued a detailed statement on what the company only described as “inappropriate operations” when the news broke earlier this week.

“The improper activity came from a lack of capacity and a lack of time,” Toshihiro Yamamoto, an executive who runs Dentsu’s digital operations, said at a press conference in Tokyo, according to a report by Wall Street Journal.
