Departing SMH property editor Jonathan Chancellor launches rival website

Two months after Eric Beecher told Mumbrella he was as “bemused and as interested as everyone” to see where the Sydney Morning Herald’s property editor Jonathan Chancellor would end up, the answer has arrived – he’ll be working for Eric Beecher.

Monday sees the launch of website Property Observer – which is published by Private Media, the company behind SmartCompany, Crikey and StartupSmart.

Chancellor is co-founder and managing editor of Property Observer. He has been working his notice at the SMH since April. His work included the Title Deeds column.
