Deputy Lord Mayor of Sydney launches Sydney Doesn’t Suck campaign advocating for plastic straws ban
The Deputy Lord Mayor of Sydney and deputy chair of the Environmental Committee, Jess Miller, has launched a campaign to promote the banning of plastic straws.
Miller said the campaign would promote entertainment venues who are taking positive steps, and help punters who don’t want to use “turtle-choking-seal-killers” when they have a night out.
That cat was doing a pretty poor impersonation of a seal
Is this also a tourism campaign?
Except, it kinda does.
Can’t get a drink in Sydney anyway, what difference does no straws make..
We don’t have a plastic straw or bag problem. We have a waste management problem. If everyone dispose their waste accordingly and having the councils doing the right thing then all these plastics will not be ended up in our oceans or being a death traps for wildlives.
How do they expect disabled people to drink?
Let’s just guilt shame people using plastic. Couldn’t they have found a better more engaging way?
Also, why is the Cr starring in the ad as the seal?
How about advocating for paper straws that degrade by giving the user a better alternative rather than guilt shaming them – cos that’ll work.
