Director George Miller has been added to Sydney Film Festival lineup

Film icon George Miller is booked to appear at Sydney Film Festival for a discussion with Nash Edgerton.
The announcement:
Sydney Film Festival today announces a special event featuring Academy Award-winning filmmaker George Miller, joining a jam-packed program of special events, talks and activations at the Festival Hub in Lower Town Hall, and at SFF screenings.
In an exclusive session titled THE ROAD TO FURIOSA – GEORGE MILLER with NASH EDGERTON, legendary director George Miller, one of the world’s greatest visual storytellers, will be in conversation with stuntman and filmmaker Nash Edgerton to discuss storytelling filmmaking. They’ll also unpack the execution of an action sequence from FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA. This must-attend event will take place at the Sydney Film Festival Hub at 3pm Saturday 15 June. All tickets $15.
The Festival also boasts a diverse line-up of events, talks, and activations to enhance the cinematic experience.

The Iron Throne at SFFTV presented by Hubbl: Celebrate the highly anticipated second season of House of the Dragon on BINGE by sitting on the Iron Throne, June 5-7 at SFFTV in Martin Place. SFFTV screens acclaimed short films plus previews of SFF 2024 films – free every day of the Festival.
Minions at the Australian Premiere of Despicable Me 4: Kids and their families will be greeted by Minions as they enter the cinema for the premiere screening on Saturday 15 June, at 1.45pm.
Haka Performance at the World Premiere of Ka Whawhai Tonu: On Friday 14 June, around 100 of the NSW Kaihaka community will gather outside Event Cinemas George St to welcome and receive the taonga of the World Premiere screening at 8.35pm of Mike Jonathan’s historical epic.
THE HUB presented by Challenger
The Hub at Town Hall puts the Festival in Sydney Film Festival. Drop in for a drink between films, grab a bite, and enjoy a swathe of special events, talks and parties.
Open to the public every night and select days from 5-16 June, The Hub will feature a daily Happy Hour special pop-up bar between 4:30pm and 6:00pm, with drinks from Mt Yengo Wines, Mountain Goat Beer, Lyres and Unexpected Guest served in the main bar and the Challenger Lounge.
The Hub will also feature a special display paying tribute to 50 years of taking world cinema to regional venues around Australia with the Travelling Film Festival. Includes an exclusive interview with David Stratton about starting the TFF in 1974!
