Don Lane tribute wins Thursday night

A Tribute to Don Lane was the most watched TV show last night taking Nine to a clear win.

Following the death of former Nine variety-show presenter Don Lane yesterday, the tribute show hosted by friend and TV personality Bert Newton was the most-watched show for the night pulling in a conservative 1.26 million, according to preliminary OzTam data.

Getaway, which aired before the tribute, at 7:30 came in second with 1.2 million.

The majority of Nine’s audience stayed tuned to watch the Secret Millionaire at 9:30 which received just over 1 million, an increase on last week’s audience of 946,000.

The three programmes, along with Two and a Half Men, took the network to a clear win, despite the continuing low audiences for Thursdays.
