Don’t dream it’s over (for the puppies being murdered by Spotify)

Dr Mumbo would have assumed that the members of Crowded House were more lovers than fighters, but they are clearly willing to make an exception when it comes to algorithmically-driven music platforms.

Frontman Neil Finn had extremely specific views about Spotify, which he shared with his audience in Hobart last night. Things took a darker turn when they attempted to bring the dogs on stage only to discover they’d already been taken home. Bass player Nick Seymour earned a laugh and a gasp from the audience when he suggested they’d already been “euthanised”.

Finn had an even more extreme suggestion: “Spotify is killing them.”
