Former ARN chief audience and content officer Lauren Joyce has officially launched her consultancy Gun For Hire, securing Abe’s Audio as her first client within the first week.
Joyce opened her practice last week, three months after departing ARN, where she had worked since 2019.
According to a release from Abe’s Audio, Joyce will work with the Tasmanian production house to help acquire new customers and “inject fresh thinking into the business.”
In a statement, Abe’s Audio founder, Abe Udy, said he understands “where the pressure points are for agencies and clients right now.”
“We’ve engaged her to challenge how we think, open up new opportunities and help us evolve how we connect with the market,” he said.
Mumbrella understands Abe’s Audio is Joyce’s first official client, with several other conversations currently in the works.
In the same release, Joyce said: “There’s a growing gap between what the industry needs and how it’s traditionally structured to deliver it. Businesses don’t necessarily need more people. They need the right expertise, applied at the right moment to unlock growth.”
“What stood out to me with Abe’s Audio is that they’ve already built a highly effective creative production engine, but more importantly, they’ve developed capabilities that many media companies simply don’t have the resources to invest in right now. That creates a genuine opportunity for partnership.”
Joyce left ARN at the end of 2025. She joined the company in April 2019 as national strategy director before moving into the role of chief strategy and connections officer in 2020.
In January, Joyce was promoted to chief audience and content officer, taking over from Duncan Campbell, who had spent 15 years as ARN’s chief content officer.
