Facebook mobile revenues accelerate

Despite advertiser concerns about metrics, Facebook reported a 44% revenue increase over the previous year to 9.3 billion dollars in the company’s results issued overnight.

“We had a good second quarter and first half of the year,” said founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, in releasing the results which saw mobile ad revenue representing around 87% of the company’s total sales in the latest quarter.

Of the US $9.3bn in revenue, 5.3 came from non-US sources. The company’s headcount also leaped 43% to over 20,000 employees this quarter.
