The Fault in Our Stars takes box office number one as X-Men pushed into fourth place

X-men: Days of Future Past has been pushed down to fourth place in the weekend’s box office, with The Fault In Our Stars claiming the top spot after taking in $3.776m across 273 screens over the long weekend.

The Fault in Our Stars, based on the book by John Green, has taken just over $4m in Australia since its premiere on Thursday.

Its closest rival action movie Edge of Tomorrow, which stars Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, grabbed $3.023m over the weekend across 477 screens, taking its total Australian box office takings to $3.079m.
