Film maker in cuttlefish stunt at studio opening

Documentary film maker Dan Monceaux interrupted the opening ceremony of South Australian Film Corporation’s new Adelaide studios facility in a stunt to promote his film.

Monceaux produced a fish-shaped pinata and invited outgoing premier Mike Rann to hit it with a rolled up newspaper in a reference to a previous attack on the politician.

In a press release Monceaux described the stunt as “a cunningly crafted surprise protest”. He also claimed the stunt was “”in a style comparable to that of famous political satirists from The Chaser”.
