Fireworks ends 2013 with a bang for ABC as cricket continues to hit
ABC1’s broadcast of the New Year’s Eve fireworks in Sydney dominated for the channel on the last day of 2013, with 1.271m viewers tuning in to see the massive pyrothecnic display at midnight, and 984,000 watching the 10.30pm family display broadcast.
The show ensured the channel grabbed a dominant 23.7 per cent share to end the year, ahead of Seven on 21.2 per cent with Ten and Nine on 12.7 per cent each with Seven News (890,000) and Nine News (823,000) the most-watched regular shows of the night at 6pm, according to the OzTam preliminary overnight report.

Last night saw Ten’s recovery continue with the channel grabbing second spot in audience share with 20.3 per cent, behind Seven’s 20.8 per cent, boosted again by two games in the Big Bash League cricket.
1.271m viewers were subjected to the most appalling, embarrassing, cringeworthy shite ever to be broadcast if it weren’t for the crackers almost everyone would have tuned out. ABC needs to take a really good look at itself
