First-ever mental health minimum standards introduced for industry
The first-ever minimum standards for mental health in the creative, media and marketing industry have been introduced by the Mentally Healthy Change Group, a collection of industry leaders.
The minimum standards, based on legislation, academic research and advice from health professionals, will act as a benchmark and encourage businesses and employees to recognise what is acceptable and “raise the bar”. The standards launched officially at this week’s Agency Leaders Symposium, with 20 companies already signing on.
That list of companies includes: Facebook, Fjord, Edelman, Havas, Hearts & Science, IAB, McCann, MFA, Omnicom Media’s PHD, OMD and Resolution, Ooh Media, Tonic Health Media and Verizon Media.
This is a great initiative. Well done to Nina and all involved!
So whats actually been done? A website, some words outlining what is and isnt ok? Is that it? Where the actual actionables and accountability though?
A week on and it’s great to see how many agencies / orgs have signed up.
It’s also a week on and no public word from either WPP AUNZ or Group M about if they agree and will sign up, or if they have a different view. (Or at least, no public word I’ve found – please highlight if I’ve missed it.)
They are great supporters of RUOKDay (today) but no action towards this specific industry initiative?
