First Rudd campaign ad calls out ‘negative politics’

This idiot has been the most dangerous, cancerous, toxic politician in federal politics since Latham. And yes, I resent my tax dollars being spent on this PR fluff.

In my minds eye all i call see whilst watching this is a load of staffers behind the camera miming out the hand gestures to make sure big kev gets them right before the 20th take and he’s starts getting all sweary.

Given he spend the past three years dishing out “negative politics” at Julia and white-anting her at every turn?

Johnno – The ad was funded by the Labor Party not tax payer $s. This was made clear on ABC radio this morning.

Johnno – it’s an Australian Labor Party ad – with Labor Party branding at the end of it. The costs of producing the ad will have come out of ALP coffers, not out of the pockets of Australian tax payers! And what? You think Abbott would be less “dangerous, cancerous and toxic”?

I just love the programmatic specificity in Mr Rudd’s ad.

He forgot to mention he also supports motherhood, Mum’s apple pie and world peace. if Australians re-elect this Kim Kardashian of politics to govern again I’ll throw up.

So after three years of focussing all of his energy in destabilising the government all for his own personal gain/vengeance, he now wants to play nice?

When speaking of decisions (e.g. NDIS, Gonski etc), I have always found it odd that Pollies talk about the ‘govt’ spending money, or supporting, with $$$XXX budget……
as though their wallets & kind heartedness is behind it all.

Semantically it would be more accurate to say; Whilst we are predominantly unaccountable for your money, the govt has chosen to spend some of your public taxes on…..

Which fool actually believes these political parties are actually using their own money for any of these ad campaigns.

Has anyone thought about the possibility that this could have been a Labor plan from the get go (after the mining tax debarcle).

As much as I hate the situation, constant useless publicity and politics in general, I actually feel that Rudd cares about Australia and is working toward what is best. It has never been tried before, so there will be hiccups along the way.

I imagine politics to be a popularity game and a role where you need to routinely navigate the best of the worst case. It is clear to me that certain news programs favor one side or the other, it is clear to me also that news programs (other than SBS and ABC) are just sensationalized garbage we rarely get much value from.

Imagine being in a job where sensationalism could end your career at any given moment….I for one do not think that is fair. Imagine a job where your opponent never has to declare that he will do anything, yet have the country (even supposed educated people) supporting him. Imagine a job where your life is completely open to millions and not personal anymore. I feel for politicians in this ‘negative’ environment…. they are not just a politician, they are people like you and me, why should we treat them any different?

Do you have all the facts, figures and all other relevant information before you to make the same decisions they do? I assume not.

Honestly….what do you think Tony Abbott is going to do? No this, no that, can’t do this, can’t do that. He is a No man. How does Australia go forward with a No man? He has never spoken about what he plans to improve or do..just what he is not going to do. He has been part of stopping many ‘a Labor solution’ to move forward. So who is holding us back?

I can understand where labor is coming from and I believe they had the right intentions. I do not believe they got it right or that things had the attention to detail required, but at least they began to do something.

The world is still going through a depression. Australia for the most was only mildly affected. You only have to go to a few neighboring countries to see and feel the impacts. Heck, some of our largest trading partners were smashed into little pieces, how do you expect Australia not to be affected. Some might be offended by this little statement but don’t offense:

Most human beings are selfish by nature, not selfless. You can not enter into a political debate at multiple entry points and highlight only a few things, the whole picture must be considered.

It is easy to save money by not doing anything, it is easy to blame the opposing party for all the problems but from where I stand Australia needs to change. It is a sad state of affairs that there are 3rd world countries with better technology than us, that 3rd world countries have better educational levels than us and that we are seen as an easy target for scammers, refugees and other ill-toward activities because we have soft laws and no unity in our political ranks.

Perhaps there should be a change in policy so that certain topics can only be positively debated and forced outcomes compulsory to help the situation/problem move forward to solutions. Treat each problem as a project and have all ‘parties’ be part of the solution. When they walk into that meeting all are equals, no rank or authority. The objective….fix the problem or take action.

It is hard I guess due to greed and power…these qualities are present in all humans…it is whether we act on them or not that takes us on ‘our path’. I really do not think that Rudd is selfish…I think he is for the most part selfless in regards to ‘helping Australia’.

Sorry for this rant but I guess I am sick of people beating on Rudd. If you don’t like him, think you can do better? Go up against him or give him some respect for doing something you are not prepared to do….

No, actually, several commenters, Mr Tony Abbott will be a breath of fresh air after the appallingly undergraduate knife-throwing show that has characterised six years of Labor.

A Coalition government might even bequeath the nation some quality legislation rather than the current government’s much-vaunted ‘quantity’ benchmark. How many pieces did you pass, Mr Swan? Mr Swan??

I have been inclined to the Labor side of politics all my adult life, but this man Rudd is far from a believable leader and his supposed honest intent is far from convincing.

He was knifed in the back by his own party because he was impossible to work with, he took on the job of foreign minister and started globe trotting with a vengeance, until he saw a shot at the prime minister-ship in his sights, where upon he deserted the job mid stream and rushed home to challenge.

Failing to gain support, he settled on the back bench and avowed never to challenge again; after the spill, he waited until the eleventh hour fifty nine minutes and fifty seconds, before appearing with a pathetic lie about never intending to challenge as he had given his word, only to undermine and weaken the position of the leader, the (so called) first among equals, and rush back in with presents for all who would support him and bid for the job again.

The very next day, he claimed to have learned his lesson and that he was a changed man, he and his cohorts began washing their shirts and confessing to having made mistakes in the past, but to be getting it all right now and to praise and almost beatify Julia Gillard, whom they had just knifed in the back.

I did all this to save the country from Abbot says Rudd, so speaks P Wong and others of his supporters and turncoats, but many have left the floor for good rather than serve anywhere near him.

Is Rudd the man you want as our prime minister ? Not I, not in a thousand years.

Mike, I got sufficient warning with the Sydney University campus politics of the late ’70s.

If you are wondering why Rudd has scored a huge boost in the polls and might win the election I received a startling insight when I talked to a few people at the gym today. One was on Disability Support Pension and said he was afraid Abbott would launch a crackdown and take his pension away to satisfy The Daily Telegraph. Another said she opposed the live animal export trade and was hoping Labor would ban it permanently. Another called herself a humanitarian and said she found Abbott’s “turn back the boats” rhetoric “racist”. It seems these views are widespread in the community and Labor is benefiting from the new political landscape.

I want the media to use their editorial control and begin providing us with the information we require to make an informed decision.

Politicians’ rhetoric is designed, obviously, to exploit media opportunities. The public clearly wants deeper discourse concerning both parties. Time for the media to accept its part in the game and act in the interests of the public – not its advertisers.

Vote between sense and insane, who would in the sanest of minds dismantle a perfectly working pacific solution, dismantling a working solution, Rudd went onto attracting thousands of illegal refugees, through Rudd many lives of kids, babies,man and women lost. Billions of tax payers money also lost , next project the pink batts, 4 lives lost, next project, schools ,billions lost again, not a single working policy, yet people are still running after Rudd, but again it’s sense against insane.

The general pattern with politicians is to fuck up everything they touch.

Quite frankly a politician that is elected and does nothing for 3 years will do far less damage than a mediocre mind with delusional visions of grandeur.

I feel sorry for the 11.7 million workers of this country who are the ones paying for all this and the single tax payer who gets nothing back but watches the family’s getting hand outs left right and centre.
