Fitzy & Wippa to Nova Sydney breakfast; Meshel, Tim & Marty to national drivetime
DMG’s Nova Radio has confirmed that its new Sydney breakfast lineup will be the current drivetime team of Fitzy & Wippa – Ryan Fitzgerald and Michael Wipfli.
The duo only took on the drivetime slot in January following Ryan Shelton’s departure to work with Hamish Blake and Andy Lee on TV projects, and Katie “Monty” Dimond’s move to join the Merrick Watts and Scott Dooley Sydney breakfast show.
Monty later left after becoming pregnant. Earlier this week, Nova announced that the Merrick & Dools breakfast show would be coming to an end in a fortnight’s time.
An hour of the Fitzy & Wippa Sydney breakfast show will now be networked nationally from 6-7pm.
Sounds Different? Sounds Bogan.

Bogan is the new black and what our country is built on. I was once a bogan and then I though I should conform so I bought a new set of Roger David threads. I never felt comfortable so I’ve embraced my inner bog an again. Long live the bogan!

Why are radio industry people so negative on every announcement made? I’m glad I don’t work in the industry! I’ve listened to these guys and they’re pretty funny so you have to assume the comments are from competitors. Get over it and respect each other radio people
Love them love the world, love my competitors love myself. I reckon Fitzy and wippa are the best radio people in the world. I’m so positive about this that I predict they will be beating vile and splatter o by survey 5 next year. I love you all X
They all have great faces for radio.
I don’t mind admitting Fitzy and Wippa are pretty dang funny most of the time. They seem to engage a broad audience, too. I listened to them this week have school kids call in and talk about what they’re up to at school and it was good stuff.
Certainly can’t name many other radio hosts who engage with a teenage or younger audience without crashing and burning, can we Kyle?

mUmBRELLA must be full of Austereo workers… This is the strongest lineup NOVA has has in a while. M&R was once #1 in Sydney and I wouldn’t be surprised if Fitzy & Wippa end up taking out that title as well. I’m a huge fan of Kyle & Jackie O but I think we all know it’s time for some fresh talent and ideas. Bring it boys and show us what you can do.

Meshel is a star and the reason Brisbane breakfast has been so successful for nova. Australia is going to love her
I like the fact that fitzy and Wippa are a different type of show to Kyle and jacki o and that listeners are going to be able to chose between showie celebrity razzle on 2day and down to earth funny and relatable on Nova. It’s good to have options and not 2 of the same thing
