Flight Centre’s global PR head moves to City of Gold Coast

Sarah Quinn, the global head of PR and communications at Flight Centre Travel Group has departed to take on a more local role.

She has landed at the City of Gold Coast as its new director of media and communications.

“The Gold Coast is home to an incredible blend of opportunity and lifestyle and it’s a privilege to live and work here,” she said in a statement to Mumbrella.

“With a rapidly growing population and significant investment in infrastructure and industry it’s an exciting time to join the city.”

Quinn had been with FCTG for nearly 18 months, leading PR and communications across all global markets, for its portfolio of brands including Flight Centre, Travel Associates, Scott Dunn, Travel Monkey, Ignite (My Holidays), Cruiseabout, BYO Jet, Aunty Betty, and Envoyage.

A year into the role, she posted on Linkedin that in Australia, FCTG “touched every corner of the country” across print, online, and broadcast.

“So proud of this talented team and what we’ve achieved together… We’ve secured around 6,000 press clips since January – that’s more than 100 per week,” she wrote.

Prior to that, she held various media and communications within the travel and tourism space including at Destination NSW, Visit Victoria, Air Asia, Perth Airport, and Cairns Airport.

She was also the Queensland Government’s principal advisor of media and government relations for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
