Four Corners News Corp investigation to air on Monday

The ABC is to broadcast the findings from its own investigation into the News of the World scandal next Monday.

Four Corners will present a report by ABC journalist Sarah Ferguson – who worked on the show’s agenda setting investigation into animal cruelty – on the scandal involving the now defunct News Corp-owned title.

However, it appears from the description of the Four Corners episode released by the ABC today that the program’s focus is on the British scandal, rather than offering any evidence of shortcomings in the empire’s local arm News Limited.

If News Corp were okay with phone tapping for news stories, how come no-one has asked or investigated if News Corp also used the same tactics for industrial or political espionage?

There is an amazing degree of denial in all this. It’s really not hard to imagine that James Murdoch will get the spear, leaving Rupert somewhat at risk of having to allow professional managers to run the business.
