Foxtel creates chief customer service officer role, with Lesley Portwain taking the helm
Foxtel’s senior leadership team and marketing functions are undergoing a further shake-up, with the subscription content company creating two new roles: chief customer service officer at Foxtel, and executive director of operations and technology for the Foxtel Group. Both new roles will report directly to Foxtel’s CEO Patrick Delany.
Lesley Portwain, currently director of customer service, will take on the chief customer service officer role, while chief operating officer at Kayo Sports, Les Wigan, steps up to become executive director of operations and technology.
In addition, chief operations officer Euan Smith is leaving to become CEO of Malaysian TV operation, Astro, and Alice Mascia, Foxtel’s chief product and strategy officer will take on responsibility for Foxtel’s Transformation office.
Hhmmm,
Does everyone have to be a “Chief”? Are there too many Chiefs and not enough Indians? Continuing to shuffle the Chiefs – good luck!
6 months tops until at least one these roles is redundant/restructured.
I’m starting a leaving cake business next to Foxtel. I reckon I could retire next year.
Never seen a company blow through so many execs – how many restructures in the last 4 or 5 year’s – smells like desperation…. titanic
Nothing like a foxtel article to bring the negative comments!
1. Build a proper Foxtel app
2. Remove the boxes from households. ( massive cost saving )
3. Reduce the cost of subscription by at least 50%
4. Allow customers to select only certain channels thru the app. Example ‘I only want AFL’, ‘I only want lifestyle’. This should be there new campaign and watch profits soar.
Yet more movement of chiefs in the gurgling Foxtel bunker with this gobbledegook brief of word salad as their goal. Heaven knows how this might help see off their mountain of debt
The entertainment at Foxtel is far more interesting offscreen than it ever has been onscreen. Brian Walsh should commission a Game of Thrones like drama based on the real life goings on in that septic mosh pit. Maybe people might actually want to subscribe to their dying service!
Jokes aside – I can’t believe that anyone in corporate Australia with any sense would ever join this dying business led by ‘news corpse’ bullies.
You seem to say this a lot, seems to me you may be an inside social media manager? How about freedom of speech rules ; )
Fern – every time people comment on Foxtel you say the same thing? Why? Are you an employee managing reputation?
