Garuda launches first ad in Australia since the ’80s

Indonesian airline Garuda has launched its first ad campaign in Australia since the 1980’s, highlighting its “revitalised fleet” and showcasing “the real Indonesia”.

Although Oddfellows won the local Garuda account last year, the ad was created by Jakarta-based Dentsu Strat. It will run around shows such as My Kitchen Rules, Glee and The Biggest Loser from 17 February.

The airline will be hoping the campaign helps improve its reputation for safety in Australia, which suffered a massive blow in 2007 when flight GA200 crashed, killing a number of Australian journalists.
