Gelato Messina launches into Woolworths

Local gelato makers Gelato Messina are launching a range of ice cream tubs and cakes into Woolworths supermarkets, nationwide, from Monday.
Six new pints “inspired by the best-selling in-store flavours and specials menu, packed with Gelato Messina’s renowned house-made toppings and chunky mix-ins” will be available for $14.50: Super Vanilla, Dulce de Leche, Pistachio Praline, Hazelnut Praline, Robert Brownie Jr. – “chocolate gelato with milk choc fudge and brownie), and Tiramisu.
In addition, three ice-cream cakes — tiramisu, iced coco, and choc malt — will be available for $30.
Gelato Messina founder, Nick Palumbo, said the company has “always been pushing boundaries to create products that surprise and delight, and after years of bringing unique flavours to our stores, we’re excited to finally make that experience more accessible to even more Australians through our first, exclusive supermarket range”.
“After expanding from our first Darlinghurst store in 2002 to now having 31 stores across Australia and internationally – the next step for us was to find a way to make our products accessible to everyone across the country, without compromising on quality,” he said.
“By working closely with Woolworths, we’ve developed a range that still has the honest quality, the delicious Messina magic, but can now be enjoyed from the comfort of your own freezer—no matter where you are. We’re proud of what we’ve created and can’t wait for people to start trying our pints and cakes from their local stores.”
To launch the new range, Gelato Messina collaborated with Aussie artist Jeremyville to create the packaging of the new range.
Gelato Messina’s new pints and ice cream cakes will be available exclusively in Woolworths stores across Australia.
Isn’t Gelato Messina in a 475mL tub. At $14.50, isn’t that a bit steep at $30+ per litre?
Cheaper than uber in any case!
