Ginger Spice takes Mel B’s place as Australia’s Got Talent judge

Channel Nine has announced today that Geri Halliwell, aka Ginger Spice, will be one of the judges for the new season of Australia’s Got Talent.

The move comes after fellow former Spice Girl Mel B was forbidden from working on the show when she tried to switch from rival talent competition X-Factor.

The announcement:

Geri Halliwell has been confirmed as the fourth judge joining Dawn French, Timomatic and Kyle Sandilands on the judging panel for Australia’s Got Talent; set to be entertainment television’s biggest revolution when it moves to the Nine Network in 2013.

Speaking exclusively to Peter Stefanovic in London on last night’s A Current Affair, Geri said: “I actually genuinely love the show, you know.

“I watch Britain’s Got Talent and I’m a fan. I think shows like that are brilliant and I love the opportunity they
give to normal everyday people.”

Australia’s Got Talent is a Fremantle Media Australia production for Nine.

Online auditions for Australia’s Got Talent are still open until May 17.
