Glee hits ratings high note for Ten

Glee, MumbrellaNetwork Ten last night saw the strong return of US musical comedy show Glee, beating the competition in its time slot and coming second only to Masterchef in popularity among younger viewers.

Glee returned with its highest audience to date, with 1.181m tuning in. It was the fourth most-watched show overall for Thursday, while Masterchef again led the ratings charge, according to overnight preliminary OzTam data in the main metro markets.

Masterchef was also the leader among 16-39s and 18-49s, followed by Glee.

At Seven, the scheduling of Criminal Minds at 8:30pm to replace the axed Cougar Town saw it attract 761,000 average viewers. This was marginally up from the 626,000 Cougar Town brought in last week.
