Google teases release of new smartphone with #madebygoogle campaign

Google has launched a social media teaser campaign to promote the launch of its new smartphone next week, touring tube lights shaped in the outline of the phone around the country, along with the letter G and the date Oct. 5.
Images of the light installation in front of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the University of Melbourne and Bondi Beach have been appearing across Google’s social media feeds with the hashtag #madebygoogle.
The internet giant is known to be launching its new smartphone, which is rumoured to be called the Pixel, next week globally, and has rolled out the same teaser campaign in other major global cities.
According to The Verge the device will be made by Google rather than LG and Huwai, which have made its recent Nexus phones, and will offer both a 5-inch and 5.5-inch variation.
Google has also launched a website under the madeby domain asking people to sign up to receive more information about the phone when it is launched.
