Gruen Planet finishes the right side of 1m
The final episode of Gruen Planet snared over 1m viewers for ABC1 last night outrating the penultimate eviction night on Nine’s Big Brother.
Host Wil Anderson and the panel discussed ads for and against same sex marriage, the Queensland government campaign to crack down on bikies and ran a pitch on the evils of advertising.
Along with the second episode of Ja’mie: Private School Girl, ABC1 had the top two entertainment shows of the night, despite a decline of around 100,000 viewers from Ja’mie.
Meanwhile Nine’s Big Brother eviction of Ed Lower averaged 842,000 and was sixth in all programs. Just five contestants remain on the show now in its final stretch, with the final evictions and winner announcement next Wednesday.
I thought Howcroft’s pro-bikie rant last night was inappropriate and awkward (considering the current gun violence). And the poor woman who lost 4-0 in the ad playoff thing looked like she wanted to crawl under a rock and die. And sorry Ja’mie – I’ll be adding to the “100,000 declining viewers” next week. It’s not at all funny; not that I can make out a word anyone says over the constant shrieking.
Gruen ran over and Ja’mie started late. These figures will need to be adjusted. I would imagine once the 7 or 8 minutes of Gruen currently being counted for Ja’mie are taken off it will fall a little more.
Johnno: Russell was not engaged in a pro-bikie rant. He was talking from a legal point of view and simply arguing that existing laws are adequate to deal with criminal gangs. His argument was that the new Queensland laws had the real potential to sweep up innocent people. However, I agree with you re Ja’mie; I joined the 100,000 after episode one.
Ja’mie’s timing is a little clunky right in the middle of the exam period when a key group of the audience is totally FML but its a brave show though not everyone’s tastes.
