GTN share price jumps as Nine Radio hangs in balance and ARN hits another low

The share price of the Peter Tonagh-chaired Global Traffic Network surged today as speculation swirls that the company has teamed up with SEN Radio’s owner Sports Entertainment Group to bid for Nine Radio.

GTN, which owns Australian Traffic Network, rose by 7.1%, the day’s biggest jump on the Unmade Index. As well as chairing GTN, Tonagh also chairs Nine, which lost 1.8% today. Bids for Nine Radio were due to be submitted at the end of last week.

Staying in the audio sector, it was another down day for ARN Media which lost 2.4% to hit another all-time low, this time with a market capitalisation of just $125m.
