The Guardian climbs into top five in Nielsen Digital News rankings as Daily Mail Australia slips 16%

The Australian edition of The Guardian has edged into the top five of Nielsen’s Digital News rankings for the month of April, thanks to Daily Mail Australia’s decline of 16%.

The top four sites News.com.au (unique monthly audience of 5.630m, down 2%), ABC News websites (4.590m, down 5%), Nine.com.au (4.436m, down 3%) and smh.com.au (3.184m, down 7%) remained steady.

All news sites in the top 10 except The Guardian Australia and Yahoo7 News websites (which jumped 12%) faced a decline from the month prior, with 8th-placed The Daily Telegraph falling 11% to 2.229m, BBC in 9th dropping 13% to 2.211m and the Herald Sun declining 15% to 2.1m.
