Guardian journalist Paul Farrell to join BuzzFeed

Walkley nominated journalist Paul Farrell will be leaving The Guardian’s Australian operation to join BuzzFeed Australia as a senior reporter.

Farrell joined The Guardian in 2013 and has been nominated for this year’s Public Interest Journalism Young Walkley for leading the outlet’s coverage of The Nauru Files of leaked detention centre documents.

No surprises there, that Guardian and Buzzfeed are exchanging staff. The two outlets frantically try to “out-Lefty” each other on a daily basis. That’s life “inside the bubble” for you!
