Hangout with Weekend Sunrise hosts Andrew O’Keefe and Monique Wright
Mumbrella hosted a live hangout with the hosts of Seven’s Weekend Sunrise Andrew O’Keefe and newly appointed co-host Monique Wright today, in which they discussed the demands of the job and how it differs from its weekday namesake.
Wright was appointed as O’Keefe’s permanent co-host at the end of last month, following the promotion of Samantha Armytage to host the weekday program with David Koch in the middle of last year.
Just wanted to write a few words to say how much I enjoy the program, and have done for a long time. Loved it when Sam was with Andrew, and am still loving it now with Monique. They’re both funny and engaging and easy to watch and listen to. I would even go so far as to suggest, or plead, that Andrew be promoted to the weekday Sunrise, in place of Koch. Every time he sits in for DK, it’s like a breath of fresh air. He is just such a delight to have on the screen. To the powers that be, could you please give serious consideration to this possible change. It would definitely be for the better.
Andrew O’Keefe seems to really split the audience – people either really love him or really hate him. Has he ever felt any pressure to step down or felt he was going to be pushed aside for someone more middle of the road?
These two rock. Both come across as sharp – Andrew with his wit and Monique keeping up and keeping a lid on him. Love watching them.
Is Deal or No Deal coming back?
@Dianne are you kidding? Andrew is the most smug and arrogant presenter on TV. Kochie is well versed in economics and actually has something intelligent to contribute. You must also listen to Kyle.
I completely agree with Diane^. Andrew is funny, witty and intelligent. Watching Kochie on weekday Sunrise can sometimes be irritating because of his arrogant, “too-good-for-you” attitude. Love Andrew though.
