‘Highly sexualised’ night club advertising banned from public arcade
Gold Coast’s MP’s Nightclub has had one of its outdoor displays banned by the ad watchdog for being “highly sexualised” and not treating sex, sexuality and nudity with sensitivity.
The ad posted in an arcade features two women dressed in lingerie with handcuffs and whips, alongside a man in his underwear displaying his chest.

I am more worried about the world we live in today than any poster on a wall showing a couple of butts and a bare chest.Its the Gold Coast you see this everywhere in real life,what next no bikinis on the beaches and men not allowed to take off shirts.I really think there are bigger and far worse problems that parents need to be worrying about.Just my opinion you don’t have to agree and I certainly won’t be putting a complaint in anywhere to make you adhere to it.
Besides the fact the advertising looks like it was made using Windows Paint, you should [Edited under Mumbrella’s comment moderation policy]. I hope it continues to be unsuccessful and the owners do our community a favour and close it down.
I’m not surprised at all. MP’s Nightclub just doesn’t care at all. From not paying their staff, not adhering to licensing regulations, to threatening their patrons – why would they care what the rules are?
It’s a gay / lesbian / bi / trans club and I think that sex is relevant to the club. Clearly a case of concerned hetros getting their knickers in a knot about bodies and skin again. 🙂
