Homeland among 13 series fast tracked by Ten in coming weeks
Network Ten will next month shift its focus to overseas programming, fast-tracking several series as it attempts to change its ratings fortunes.
The network will fast-track 13 shows from the US and UK, starting from later this month.
The moves comes as Ten finds itself struggling in the ratings after Everybody Dance Now and I Will Survive were unable to deliver major prime time audience figures.
Has anyone seen the promo’s for this running at the mo? they’re sooooo good.
Great show, but on air it will have twice the amount of commercial breaks as the US, and they will all be for Ten’s reality TV programming. Which makes me sad.
Is it really fast tracking anymore. Now that these episodes become available on the net as soon as they are aired, it would just seem the logical thing to do .

Hey TimeShifter … what’s your logic there? Homeland is made to fill a 60 minute slot in the US (like nearly every other TV show). They make the show to run for around 44 minutes leaving 12 minutes for ‘national’ ads and 4 minutes for ‘local’ ads. So, if Australia is going to run twice the ads does that mean 32 minutes of ads and Ten will cut 16 minutes of the programme. Or did you just blow that out of your arse?
Good move but people will not wait for the delay. Yes there are problems with U.S elections, or U.S holidays but if they aren’t playing them within 24 hours of the U.S release then people will get them another way and once you’ve lost those people it’s pretty hard to get them back to watching tv with ads.
Homeland sucked. the suspension of belief was beyond comprehension. Crap! Bipolar? She didn’t act like i do when i’m not on my meds. And when i do take my Tegrato and Lovan, i’m like anyone else.

I love Homeland. If only ten could get a hold of some more quality HBO style drama along with continued local commissions it might give them something to say they stand for. Mad Men and Boardwalk Empire please!
Fast-track whatever you like. Appointment model of viewing TV is dying unless it’s live sport.
The Pirate Bay, EZTV and co offer shows whenever you want them – an almost impossible model for broadcast TV to compete with, I know, but nightsoil-carters didn’t have it any easier.
Impossible for the broadcasters to compete with – apart from the fact that it is those very same broadcasters that create the shows that people ‘fast-track’ (i.e. pirate or steal). Send ’em broke and you’ll soon crave to watch shows even half as crappy as The Shire or Lara Bingle.
