Jonathan Akiki is Hook Creative Studio’s new creative director.
The announcement:
Hook Creative Studio has landed a big fish in the advertising world, announcing the appointment of Johnathan Akiki as their new creative director. Poached from Hero, Akiki brings a wealth of big brand experience, a track record of game-changing campaigns, and a passion for shaking up the industry.
For Pat Langton, founder & chief creative guy at Hook Creative Studio, this isn’t the first time he’s worked with Akiki, but it is the first time he’s had to steal him away.
“Jono and I go way back to our Magnum Opus Partners days,” Langton said. “Even back then, he had this insane creative spark and an unmatched work ethic. Fast forward to now, and he’s evolved into an absolute powerhouse, leading campaigns for some of the world’s biggest brands. Bringing him on board feels like a full-circle moment, and I couldn’t be more excited to see how he’ll help HOOK level up.”
With Akiki at the creative helm, HOOK is doubling down on its mission to rewrite the rulebook on how agencies work. The studio, which prides itself on bringing much of its production and post-production in-house, is gaining a leader who’s ready to push boundaries and inspire.
“HOOK isn’t just another agency; they’re rethinking how advertising is done,” Akiki said. “It’s refreshing, it’s bold, and it’s exactly the kind of place I want to be. I’m thrilled to join a team that’s as passionate about creativity as I am, and I can’t wait to help change the advertising game.”
Akiki’s career boasts a portfolio of award-winning campaigns for brands across the globe. Now, he’s ready to bring that expertise to HOOK, building on the studio’s momentum as it continues to shake up the industry.
“Johnathan is exactly what Hook needs as we head into this next chapter,” Langton added. “He’s got the experience, the vision, and the guts to challenge convention. We’re about to have a lot of fun, and so are our clients.”
With Akiki onboard, Hook Creative Studio is primed to turn heads and make waves—and maybe even rewrite the rules of advertising in the process.
