House Rules sheds viewers as The Voice and Masterchef break 1m mark
Seven’s House Rules shed 163,000 metro viewers last night as it heads towards its conclusion, with the reality renovation show pulling in 779,000 metro viewers down from last week’s audience of 942,000 as Nine’s The Voice and Ten’s Masterchef both broke the one million viewer mark.
Nine’s singing contest won the night with a metro audience of 1.428m while Ten’s Masterchef grabbed 1.076m metro viewers. The two reality rivals were the most-watched and the second most-watched shows across the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54).
The success of The Voice helped Nine stretch its lead on closest rival Seven, with Nine grabbing an audience share of 26.4 per cent as Seven did not manage to break the 20 per cent mark with a share of 17.6 per cent.
Seven just beat Ten who claimed third place with a share of 15.6 per cent as the ABC fell below the 10 per cent line with a share of 9.8 per cent.
It is interesting that as MC heads towards the finale the ratings are softening on the back of the Voice.
