Hungry Jack’s Barramundi: the burger colonial men write poems about
Clemenger BBDO Sydney has released a new TV commercial for burger maker Hungry Jack’s.
The TV spot is the next installment in the “Eat Righteous” campaign, and features a colonial man writing a poem about its new fish burger, The Barramundi.
It follows previous executions including the burger you eat after being knighted, and the burger that attracts heat seeking missiles.
Of course if fast food was around in colonial times we would all have died od it sooner
What exactly is the thinking behind the eat righteous prop?
So is a Hungry Jack’s barramundi a real Australian barramundi?
I’ve seen fish in Coles & Woolies branded as “barramundi” yet the tag also said “Product of Thailand or Vietnam or China”!
How can a fish from outside Australia be branded a barramundi! Sacrilege!
Riotously demented, yet I can’t look away ! Is the ‘Eat Righteous!’ slogan a reflection of the ‘righteous eating’ trend, highlighting that these burgers are more nutritious than ‘other’ ubiquitous ones? I’m a distance design Diploma student and I’d love a distance freelance gig with Clem BBDO ! This humour & thinking is on my wavelength !

If not labelled ask.
What’s up with these fast food joints trying to go upscale (and lifting their prices to reflect)? If I want an upscale burger I’d go to a restaurant, or Grilld for a mid-scale burger. I go to McD’s and HJ’s for cheap greasy crap, but unfortunately they’re no longer cheap these days. You’re getting ripped off if you pay more than $3 for one of these “burgers”.
As a vegequarian (not sure if thats a real word but as I work in marketing/advertising lets just say it is) I’m actually considering Hungry Jacks now.
Please make sure it goes into the domestic airport stores as the choices there are dire for people who don’t eat meat.
