ICON Agency marketing director departs
The marketing director of indie creative comms agency ICON Agency has departed after over four years.
Kathleen Gunther joined ICON in mid-2020, leading the agency’s marketing efforts across web, PR and creative.
Prior to that, she held roles at various companies including YoungShand., Amobee, Social Soup, Telstra, and Virgin Mobile Australia.
Mumbrella understands the agency will no longer have a dedicated marketing resource following her departure.
Late last year, ICON hired Michael Knox as a new executive creative director, with his responsibilities including overseeing all of the agency’s creative output.
It also recently expanded to launch a dedicated creative offering in Sydney, hiring Gareth Fitzpatrick and Kenneth E. Parris III to lead it.
ICON’s social and behavioural change division – The Change Collective – also partnered with preventative mental health and emotional intelligence charity The Man Cave this year, using its expertise to create authentic campaigns to engage young men.
Mumbrella has contacted Gunther and ICON for comment.
