Indigenous rap group too ‘political’ for NYE home revelers
Dr Mumbo is confused but not entirely shocked to learn that revellers celebrating the turn of the year from the comfort of their couches have taken issue with the inclusion of Indigenous rap group 3% in the ABC’s New Year’s Eve coverage.
As X users would have it, the communist bunch at the ABC have gleefully appropriated the 9pm firework display with their strategies to radicalise the next generation. As if the projections of leftist animation Bluey on Sydney Harbour Bridge pylons wasn’t already enough!
ABC is media for champagne socialists – imagine if we had conservative media paid by tax payers dollars doing the same thing – you would have a field day.
I don’t really know what “champagne socialism” is, but I’m going to guess celebrating indigenous culture and highlighting much needed support is not it.
I’d argue they are trying to represent a variety of interests and of course First Nation people should be seen.
Aside from it all, could the ABC spend some decent money next year on some artists that are entertaining and which the audience and viewers can maybe enjoy familiar songs and not use the night as an audition.
It’s a non-event, get over it. “Too political”, no such thing.
Or maybe acknowledge a required taste in entertainment,
Or maybe acknowledge that you don’t know the artists in question and other people might.
I think its less about race and more about the sub optimal performance. I didn’t watch it – feedback was that they just weren’t very good and it went on for too long.
