
ING Australia confirms another major outage

ING Australia has confirmed that a number of its banking systems are again unavailable to customers – the latest in a series of technical outages the bank has suffered over the past month.
In an update given to Mumbrella on Wednesday morning at 10.41am, ING writes: “Services are returning to normal. Most customers should now be able to access the ING app and online banking and make payments and transfers.
“As we complete the restoration, some overseas customers may be experiencing some issues accessing the app and online banking and we will provide updates on our socials.
“We sincerely apologise to any customers who have been impacted.”
ING Australia acknowledged the outage in a post to X earlier in the morning.
“We are aware that some customers are currently experiencing issues accessing the ING app and website,” the post read.
“Our teams are investigating this issue and we will provide further updates shortly.
“We are extremely sorry to any customers who have been impacted.”
This comes two weeks after a similar outage hit ING’s banking systems, although some customers were still reporting issues with ING’s infrastructure over the weekend, a fortnight after the bank claimed the issues were resolved.
ING also suffered an earlier outage in late October, when over 2,300 reported they were unable to access their bank accounts. Services were up and running within hours, but ING were forced to warn customers about scammers who were praying on the bank’s users.
“We’re aware scammers are calling customers or posting on social media claiming they can help to restore online and app access,” the bank said in a statement.
“ING will never call you about online banking services and all updates about this issues are being shared on our official ING Australia social media pages and on our website.”

What is it with these banks? I was one of thousands last Saturday that was unable to withdraw/pay using debit card at two supermarkets, and then two transacions of so called payment of cash appeared on my statement, no money was given out, double transactions charged.
