Jason Scott named CEO of Allure Media as Chris Janz departs

logo_allureMedia executive Jason Scott has returned to Australia as chief executive of online publisher Allure Media and its range of titles including Business Insider and Gizmodo.

Scott joins Allure as founding CEO Chris Janz, who launched Allure with technology company Netus in 2007, leaves the business. Netus was initially funded by News Limited and bought by Fairfax Media in December.

Allure Media claims a monthly audience of over 2 million across its six websites that also include local versions of Life Hacker, Kotaku, Popsugar and Shopstyle. The sites include a mix of local and US content.

Scott, who has been working with Allure Media in an advisory role over the last few months, said the company is one of a new breed of digital media businesses and has “an impressive stable of world-class brands and partners”.
