The Jungle Book tops the weekend box office as The Boss claims second place

Jon Favreau’s live-action The Jungle Book raked in $6.047m across 572, taking its total box office takings to $10.602m.

The film, which features the voice work of Bill Murray, Christopher Walken and Scarlett Johansson, knocked last weekend’s top player The Huntsman: Winter’s War into fifth place.

Melissa McCarthy comedy, The Boss, claimed second spot, pulling in $2.140m in its opening weekend. Since its premiere last Thursday, the comedy has made a total of $2.157m.
