Jon Holloway leaves R/GA after just 18 months as Rebecca Bezzina returns
Jon Holloway, managing director of R/GA, has departed the agency, with Cummins & Partners MD and former R/GA executive Rebecca Bezzina returning to fill the role just seven months after leaving.
Holloway is believed to be moving into a new business outside the advertising industry but declined to comment on his next move.
The ad executive joined R/GA in February last year with the agency highlighting his “rich history in digital innovation” as a key reason for bringing him on board.
At the time of the appointment, EVP and managing director for RG/A, Jim Moffat, said that Holloway had been hand-picked for the role.
Holloway’s departure marks the return of Bezzina to the agency where she previously worked as managing director of client services.
Bezzina was with R/GA as it grew from five to more than 60 staff, leaving the agency in February to become managing director of Cummins & Partners’ Sydney office ‘at the beginning of this year.
Moffat said of Bezzina’s return: “We are very happy to welcome Becs back to R/GA as VP, managing director. Her deep understanding of our culture, her past history of success at R/GA, and knowledge of the Australian marketplace make her the perfect person to lead our operations here.”
Bezzina joined Cummins from M&C Saatchi, where she was group head, leading the Commonwealth Bank account, and has previously worked with M&C Saatchi/Mark.
Looks like a mess all round

I hear that Pollard from Telstra demanded that RGA get Bezzina back on the business

That guy is all hot air. Me thinks Gav, Nick and Bob found that out.

Walter why be so rude? Even if people think that why say that?

I noticed from his Instagram he did a 24hr NY trip a few days ago. Must have handed in his resignation directly to Bob & Nick. What a thoughtful gentleman! Jon’s sure to be a disruptive force in his next transformation endeavour.

Who will save the advertising industry now that Jon’s gone?

Coming up close to the 4 year birthday of the Sydney office and what has been achieved? Just a glorified banner shop for Telstra.
I don’t see how this latest “shake up” is going to result in anything new coming out of the place…
