Kayo chief would ‘absolutely’ consider bringing A-Leagues back

Less than two months away from the start of the 2024/25 season, a Foxtel head has said the company would consider bringing the A-Leagues back to its screens.

In 2020, Foxtel abandoned a $60 million six-year deal with Football Federation Australia which saw the football competition move to Paramount, who have the rights until the end of the 2025/26 season.

It hasn’t been smooth sailing for the code since, with just this year alone seeing redundancies and club distributions slashed.

It has led to calls for more support for the A-Leagues on all levels, including fans and local media, particularly from  Clive Dickens, Optus Sport’s vice president of TV, content, and product development, who recently told Mumbrella: “The A-League probably isn’t where it should be since its debut 20 years ago.”
