Kieran Gilbert to host Fox Sports Rugby World Cup coverage
Sky News chief political reporter Kieran Gilbert is to front sister network Fox Sports’ coverage of the Rugby World Cup in Japan.
The tournament runs from September 20 until November 2 and Gilbert will take a break from Sky News for the duration of the competition.
With the coming departure of Sky News political editor David Speers to host the ABC’s Insiders, Gilbert will be the network’s most senior political journalist. The Fox Sports work could be seen as a way of offering Gilbert career progression after nearly two decades of reporting on politics for Sky News.
Kieran Gilbert quite possibly the worst choice of Hosts for Rugby World Cup 2019. Where’s Nick McArdle?
Kierans style of questioning and lack of cohesion with the professionals just makes for a really bad combo and if this is what the next 6 weeks holds then Fox…. you suck.
Get rid of him. Go back to politics cos you have no place in sports.
“ Politics”, why do organizations do this? Nick McArdle is a quality presenter and a quality man. A terrible decision. Nicks IP and experience as well as is rapport with the other presenters has all been over looked because someone in management wants to show how big and how influential they are. Park your ego whom ever made the decision and realize if It’s not broken don’t fix it.
