King Media to launch new free newspaper for Camden council region
Publisher King Media is set to launch a new, monthly free newspaper in Camden with The Independent South-West to launch at the Camden Light Up Festival.
The newspaper will cover the region from Cawdor to Leppington and will be available at local news agents, service stations, pharmacies, cafes, malls and shopping centres.
It will feature local news, editorial cartoons and political analysis that “will hold the council to task”.
Congratulations on setting up an independent paper for the Camden area. I wish you were also covering Wollondilly Shire Council who have shown a perversity towards transparency and accountability and have lashed out with sanctions against people for asking questions. Councils owe their existence to ratepayers but when ratepayers ask questions on decision making and expenditure management takes offence, even though policy and legislations provides for open government. Best of luck. Lynette Styles.
